Reservoirs, Environment and Identity in Modern England and Wales

This book explores the impacts of reservoir construction and management in England and Wales from the late-nineteenth to early-twentieth century. Taking a comparative approach with case studies from Leeds’s Washburn Valley, Liverpool’s Vyrnwy Reservoir and Birmingham’s Elan Reservoir, it examines the environmental, social, and cultural transformation of urban and rural environments, waterworks management, leisure activities, and local communities.
